Multi Main Table

In LN, the concept of Multi Main Table (MMT) is introduced. This feature was not present in the earlier releases of LN. The motive behind including this feature was to provide the user with an easy way of navigating through the most complex sessions easily and providing the user with reasonable usability. Comments were also received from the Sales, Marketing, Consulting and several other stakeholders regarding the ease-of-use and usability aspect of the application. Hence, to cater to the needs of the user, the Multi Main Table concept is introduced. It must be understood that the inclusion of MMT will not hamper or affect the functionality of the application. Conceptually, any MMT sessions can be opened from the respective list session. For example, a Service Order Activity MMT can be started from a Service Order or Service Order Activity session. In general, the intention of an MMT session is to provide as many details as possible from the header lines related data. However, most often than not, the information listed thus will not sufficient for the user to proceed. Hence, other details that are not listed in either the header or the lines are provided through specific options. These options also require several context-based actions that would be necessary in each case to successfully benefit from a MMT session.

MMT focuses on the following:

  • To achieve less complexity, more relevance, and less number of clicks while accessing all related data. This is indeed, the value proposition of the MMT session.
  • To include the Header and Satellite representation as one of its salient features.
  • To investigate the Grid type data entry or Multi-Line edit for faster data entry
  • To investigate on a method to evolve an easy selection of fields to be displayed for a view.
  • To synchronize data views between sessions, when different actions are performed.
  • To provide easy methods to guide the user to address error messages properly. If the error message concerns data that is not obvious or not in view then, the user can be confused.

Hence, we can see the difference in the usability aspects and the ease of use of the sessions that have the MMT functionality is introduced
