How LN allocates engineers

For detailed SRP, LN allocates engineers as follows:

  • If activities are defined for a serialized item, that item's preferred engineer is selected.
  • If no preferred engineer is available for the serialized item, the preferred engineer of the Installation group is selected.

The service department that is specified on the service order level is used to select all possible alternate service engineers. If the service department is a sub service department, the main service department can be determined. All service engineers from the main service department, and all related sub service departments, are selected. The engineers must have all mandatory skills specified for the service order order or service order activity.

The efficiency rate of the service order is the maximum recorded among the activity lines (planning method: By Service Order). If the efficiency rate is one, the selected engineer must not be a supervisor. If the efficiency rate is greater than one, a team must be planned. The selected engineer must be a supervisor, and must have a minimum number of engineers that is equal to the related efficiency rate.

Alternate engineers are sorted according to the following rules:

  • The required skill percentage for the serialized item group must be as high as possible. The percentage of skills required for the service orders is related to the serialized item group.
  • The engineer with the same service area as the service order is selected first. The engineer with a different service area is selected second, and so on.
  • The engineer must have as few unused skills as possible.
  • The engineer with the same service department as the service order is selected first. The engineer with a different service department is selected second, and so on.
  • Supervisors (in case of teams) with the fewest number of engineers are preferred.
