Bid

The objective of the estimation process is to prepare a quotation or bid consisting of the sales price information of deliverables (primary structural elements). You can achieve this through the integration with Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel. The estimation process is not intended to write back data from Word or Excel to LN Project.

The bid template is divided into the following three parts:

  • Bid Document: The Microsoft Word integration part of the bid. The document generated provides bid details such as business partner, submitted date, sales amount, and bid approval status. It also provides project details, such as invoice method, bank guarantee details, customer reference, and, finally, provides the installment scheme. The template is a good illustration of what you can accomplish. Changes are required to make the template fit the needs of a specific organization, for example, adding the company logo, particularly, if the logo will be used for communications with the prospect/customer.
  • Bid Scope: This part of the template provides information about the primary structural elements, in regard to description, parent element. The information is in regard to the various components involved in the final deliverable.
  • Bid Summary: The structural elements information, such as description and net sales amount, appears in the spreadsheet available through the integration with Microsoft Excel. The bid summary shows the net sales amounts in the bid sales currency and the available home currencies, each on a separate worksheet.

In addition, subtotals by primary structure element are also calculated, to provide greater insight into the bid structure. The total sales amount of the final deliverable calculated here must be the same as the one provided in the Microsoft Word document.
