Effective Assembly Line Surcharge (ticpr3150m000)

Use this session to display the item surcharges by assembly line that are effective when calculating the assembly costs. The effective assembly line surcharges are displayed in this session after running the Actualize Assembly Line Surcharges (ticpr2280m000) session. In the Effective Date field the date is displayed on which the assembly line surcharges are actualized.

Surcharges are extra costs in an item's standard cost price or valuation price, for example, handling costs or inspection costs. A surcharge serves as a discount if the amount or percentage entered is a negative value.

Assembly Line
A set of consecutive line stations in which FAS (Final Assembly Schedule) items are manufactured. The items are manufactured by passing the items from line station to line station and by carrying out operations at each line station. An assembly line is subdivided into a number of line segments separated by buffers. An assembly line can be either a main line or a supplying line.
Generic Item
The generic item or manufactured item for which the Default Supply Source is Assembly.
Effective Date
The date and time on which the assembly line surcharges were actualized in the Actualize Assembly Line Surcharges (ticpr2280m000) session.
Sequence
The number that identifies a data record or a step in a sequence of activities. Sequence numbers are used in many contexts. Usually LN generates the sequence number for the next item or step. Depending on the context, you can overwrite this number. You can sometimes influence the numbering by setting the corresponding parameters.
Description
The description of the assembly line's surcharge.
Currency
The currency in which the surcharge is expressed.
Surcharge Method
The method of calculating the surcharge for the assembly line.

If the method is Selective (Total Costs) or Selective (Added Costs), a surcharge base is defined in the Assembly Line Surcharge Bases (ticpr1190m000) session to which the calculation applies.

Surcharge Amount
The surcharge expressed as an amount. An amount is entered in this field if the Surcharge Method field is Fixed Amount.
Surcharge Percentage
The surcharge expressed as a percentage.

A surcharge percentage is entered in this field if the Surcharge Method field has one of the following values:

  • of Total Costs
  • of Added Costs
  • Selective (Added Costs)
  • Selective (Total Costs)
Cost Component
The cost component to which the assembly line's surcharge is linked.
Variable Cost
Surcharges can contribute to either fixed operation costs or variable operation costs. Fixed operation costs are costs that are independent on the number of items produced. Variable operation costs are costs that depend on the number of items produced. In LN, cost prices and valuation prices can be broken down into fixed costs and variable costs.

If this check box is selected, the defined surcharge is considered as variable costs. A surcharge that is considered as variable costs will always be included in FTP inventory valuation.

If this check box is cleared, the defined surcharge is considered as fixed costs. A surcharge that is considered as fixed costs, will only be included in FTP inventory valuation if the Include Fixed Costs in Valuation Price check box in the Cost Price Calculation Parameters (ticpr0100m000) session is selected.

Note
  • The used valuation method for inventory valuation must be Fixed Transfer Pricing (FTP). If an actual valuation method is used, such as LIFO, FIFO, or MAUC, inventory valuation will include fixed costs as well as variable costs.
  • In standard cost price calculation, it makes no difference whether surcharges are fixed costs or variable costs. The outcome of the cost price is not effected. However, LN can break down the cost price into fixed costs and variable costs.
