| | Function: Freight Order ControlThe goal of this main business function is to generate, monitor,
and maintain freight order data. Process: Freight Order Control (code: MFM01a) This process plays a key role in Freight Management. Freight
orders reflect the need for transportation and contain all the necessary data
with regard to addresses, items, quantities, times, business partners,
transport requirements, and so on. The user can run this process to do the following: - Generate freight orders based on sales, purchase, warehousing
and/or enterprise planning orders (DRP) (Batch).
- Manually create freight orders.
- Monitor and/or maintain existing freight orders
Assumptions: - Only if the purpose of following this procedure is to consult
and/or modify existing freight orders, the option to check the corresponding
freight planning information is available. Here, the user can look at the
shipments and loads created by the freight management-planning engine, based on
the freight orders.
- In Freight Management, you can also work with components
instead of main items; hence the option to maintain freight order bills of
material.
