Function: Execution control

The objective of this function is to control the actual running of the project-related activities, such as allocating resources to activities, planning project requirements, and initiating invoices to be sent to the customer.

Process: Execution control, process (code: MPR05a)

The objective of this main business function is to allocate human resources to activities, generate a requirements plan for project items that are required for these activities and finally to prepare invoicing schedule.

  • Resource allocation
The objective is to allocate in-house or temporary employees and equipment to activities. The same resources can be used simultaneously in multiple projects.
  • Project requirements planning

One of the two objectives of this process is to calculate the demand for items, subcontracting (hours/items) and equipment. The results are purchase orders and warehouse orders.

This main function relates to the main planning and scheduling function since altering schedules changes the amount of time for which human resources and materials are required.

After you transfer the orders, changes to the schedule have no influence on the actual orders, though rescheduling messages are generated.

The other important objective is to generate service orders for labor requirements that are executed by the service department, such as installations at site and warranty service.

  • Project Invoicing
The objective of invoice preparation is to use various invoice methods on the current project phase. After the invoices are created, they are transferred to the Sales Invoicing module in LN Finance for central processing. Revenues are generated based on the invoices.
