Function: Picking

This function controls all picking operations to be performed. Outbound advices are generated with reference to the method used by picking, for example, order versus wave picking. Picking is usually initiated by orders generated outside Warehouse Management, such as sales, service, or production.

The objective of this process is to issue goods from the warehouse in an advanced environment.

By means of an outbound advice, you can determine the items to be picked. You can pick These items are either picked by outbound advice or by a more advanced picking list, printed based on pick sequence.

If the goods to be picked are not on hand, you can generate a cross-dock order. When goods arrive at the warehouse, these goods can be picked immediately without first storing the goods. For more information, see "Receive Goods, advanced" ( Function: Receipt).

If you use handling units, you can also generate an outbound advice for a specific handling unit. As a result, this handling unit is included on the pick lists. The handling unit performs all recordings of the outbound transactions.

If inspections are required, you must perform these inspections after picking.
