Function: Contract closure

The objective of this business function is to close sales contracts.

Process: Close sales contract (code: MAM07b)

The objective of this process is to maintain existing sales contracts or contract proposals or to create sales contract reports. You can evaluate contracts and create and send reminders to the customer.

This process starts with a review of the contract. Contracts or contract proposals must be closed and must, therefore, be deactivated.

After the user prints the sales contract acknowledgements, the closed contract will be sent to acknowledge the customer by mail, fax, or, optionally, by EDI. Subsequently, the sales contract can be terminated or deleted by selecting the Terminate Expired Contracts check box. After you perform these activities, the sales contract for these typologies is closed.

Assumptions:

  • The use of contracts is optional for the typologies Standard and Predefined. However, if schedules are used, the use of a contract is mandatory.

Process: Maintain/Close service contract (code: MAM07a)

The objective of this process is to monitor or effect changes or close service contracts. Closure means controlling the status, in this case to expiration, affecting the closure, archiving the contract and, if necessary, deleting the contract from the transaction company.
