Function: Demand planning

The demand plan will be generated based upon the master data. You can generate this plan with Infor's Demand Planner or with LN standard software. If the planning is performed based on options and features, and not on real end items, you can use the MMX variant. The demand can be generated based upon the sales budget that was defined by sales or by management; however, the demand can also be based on history if no real sales targets were defined. You can use demand planning to create an accurate forecast to meet the customer’ s demand in the best possible way.

Process: Create demand plan (code: MDM01a)

The objective of this process is to generate a demand plan. Before you create the demand plan, you can maintain scenarios. You can generate the demand plan manually from sales budgets, or based upon historical data. To update the demand plan, you must first review the current demand plan and then change the demand plan by manually entering (special) demand. You can enter the demand plan for each item or channel. Channels are used to limit consumption of the supply for particular customers. In this case, channels are used as distribution channels. You can also use channels as sales/marketing or product channels. The demand plan can be aggregated or disaggregated for management and control purposes. The plan can be aggregated or disaggregated according to predefined relations, in which case a review is available. The result can be reviewed on the item master plan, in the channel master plan, or by reviewing channels periods by item.

Process: Create demand plan (SCS-Demand Planner) (code: MDM01c)

Sales history data is loaded from LN into the SCS-Demand planner where the demand plan is generated and evaluated. After the demand plan is reviewed, the plan is imported into LN.

Assumptions:
