Dimension Mapping (tfgld4571m000)

Use this session to define the mapping of an element group to a dimension. The mapping is used for the integration document type or types to which you link the element group.

To define the mapping, use the Mapping Scheme Details tab of the Mapping Scheme (tfgld4573m000) session to map values or ranges of the elements to a dimension.

In a multicompany structure, if you enter zero in the Target Logistic Company field and /or the Financial Company field, the mapping applies to all companies. To define an exception to the shared mapping, you can enter company numbers in these fields.

Mapping Scheme Code
A scheme that defines the ledger accounts and dimensions to which the integration transactions are posted.
Mapping Scheme Version
The mapping scheme version.

The defined mapping is only valid for this mapping scheme version.

Element Group
The element group to which the mapping elements are linked.
Dimension Type
The dimension type to which the elements are mapped.
Business Object Company
In a multicompany structure, the mapping is used for the integration transactions that are generated in this logistic company.

If you enter zero in this field, the mapping applies to all the companies.

Financial Company
In a multicompany structure, the mapping is used for the integration transactions that are posted to this financial company.

If you enter zero in this field, the mapping applies to all the companies.

Priority
The dimension mapping priority. Level one represents the highest priority.

If LN cannot map the transaction based on the mapping with priority one, LN uses the mapping with priority two, and so on.

For different priorities, the mapped values and value ranges of the mapping elements can overlap.

Related topics

Sequence Number
The order in which LN searches the values of the mapping elements to find the mapping of an integration transaction.

For better performance, the most specific element must have sequence number 1 and the least specific element must have the highest sequence number.

For the mapping sequences within a mapping priority, the mapped values and values ranges of the mapping elements cannot overlap.

Retrieve Dimension from Element
If this check box is selected, the element code is filled with the first element present in the element group.

As a result, the financial value (ledger or dimension) matches the linked element value of the logistic transaction, and no detailed mapping is required.

Business Object
In the context of financial integration transaction processing, a business object is a logistic entity or event such as an item, a purchase order, a business partner, or a warehouse issue.
Business Object Attribute
A characteristic of the business object that can be used to map the integration transaction to specific ledger accounts and dimensions. For example, the Sales Order business object has the Series attribute and the Sales Order Type attribute, among others.
Dimension
The dimension to which the values or ranges of values of the mapping elements are mapped.
Business Object Element Value From/To
A project code selected from the General Projects (tcmcs0552m000) session.
Business Object Element Value From/To
An item code selected from the Items - General (tcibd0501m000) session.
