Flexible Budget by Year (tffbs1110s000)

Use this session to define single dimension budget amounts and rate/surcharges.

Note

You can only use the budgets for which you selected the Flexible Budget check box in the Budgets (tffbs0503m000) session.

Single dimension budgets are entered by dimensions and by reference units. A dimension can, for example, a cost center, and a reference unit for example man hours. Only ledger accounts can be linked to single dimension budgets. You can split up amounts in a variable or fixed part. Calculate rates to allocate performances to other dimensions and to determine rates/surcharges for cost objects (for example, item, project). When you calculate rates/surcharges, you can use the budgeted performance which is defined in the Performance Budget by Year (tffbs1120m000) session.

Year / Budget
The budget year.
Year / Budget
A plan of units or amounts allowed to be spent on certain objects such as departments, cost centers, items, or item groups.

This plan can be evaluated with the actual figures afterwards, and it can be compared with other budgets. In addition, you can simulate different scenarios.

Dimension Type
The dimension type for which you maintain a budget amount of a single dimension budget.
Dimension
The dimension for which you can define a budget amount and a rate/surcharge in the reference unit field.
Reference Unit
The reference unit linked to the dimension (for example, man hours). The performance budget by dimension/reference unit is used to calculate rates/surcharges.
Surcharge Base Amt
The surcharge-base year amount, which is defined in the Performance Budget by Year (tffbs1120m000) session.
Performance Quantity
The annual performance quantity defined for the specified budget, dimension, and reference units in the Performance Budget by Year (tffbs1120m000) session.
Sequence Number
The sequence number of the ledger account that must be used in the budget. For example, you can use the sequence numbers to group the ledger accounts by type of costs.

The combination of sequence number and ledger account must be unique. However, you can assign the same sequence number to several ledger accounts, in the same way as in the ledger account structure.

If you add a dimension to a budget and a ledger account structure exists for the dimension, the sequence numbers are also copied.

The sequence number of the ledger account can be used in the sort order of the following sessions:

  • Flexible Budget by Period (tffbs1111m000).
  • Flexible Budget Overview (tffbs1512m000).

In the Print Flexible Budgets (tffbs1410m000) session, you can select a new report sorted on the ledger account sequence numbers.

Ledger Account
A register used to record financial transactions and to accumulate the values of the transactions for reporting and analysis. The ledger accounts classify the transactions into categories such as revenues, expenses, assets, and liabilities.
Allocation Type
The ledger-account type to allocate the costs.
Periodic Distribution Mode
The distribution method of amounts and quantities over periods.

Default value

LN takes the default value from the Budget Defaults by Ledger Account/Dimensions (tffbs0104s000) session.

Distribution
The distribution of budgets and rates over the number of budget periods.
Debit / Credit
The value of the budget amounts.
Variability %
The percentage of the variable amount of the total amount.

Base Rate
The rate, along with the number of units, is used as a basis to determine the total budget amount.

It is used along with Base Units as a basis for determining the Total. It allows you to set a rate depending on which you can specify a budget amount.

The default value is 1.0

Base Units
The units define the number of units which determine the budget amount, after having specified the cost of each unit (Base Rate).
Budget Amount
The total budget amount per year.
Budget Amount
The variable budget amount for the specified combination of:

This amount is equal to the total amount multiplied by the variability percentage.

Budget Amount
The fixed budget amount for the specified combination of:

This amount is equal to the total budget amount minus the variable budget amount.

Budget Cost Rate/Surcharge
The total budget rate/surcharges for the following combination:

Budget Amount/ Performance Qty or Surcharge Base Amt x 100

Budget Cost Rate/Surcharge
The variable budget rate/surcharges for the combination of the following:

Budget Amount/ Performance Qty or Surcharge Base Amt x 100

Budget Cost Rate/Surcharge
The fixed budget rate/surcharges for the combination of the following:

Budget Amount/ Performance Qty or Surcharge Base Amt x 100

Effective Cost Rate/Surcharge
The total effective rate/surcharges for the reference unit under the specified dimension.

Default value

The default value is the budget rate.

Note

This field only applies, if the Use Effective Rates check box is selected in the Controlling 1 Parameters (tffbs0100s000) session.

Effective Cost Rate/Surcharge
The variable effective rate/surcharges for the reference unit under the specified dimension.

Default value

The default value is the budget rate.

Note

This field only applies, if the Use Effective Rates check box is selected in the Controlling 1 Parameters (tffbs0100s000) session.

Effective Cost Rate/Surcharge
The fixed effective rate/surcharges for the reference unit under the dimension and the ledger account.

Default value

The default value is the budget rate.

Note

This field only applies, if the Use Effective Rates check box is selected in the Controlling 1 Parameters (tffbs0100s000) session.
