Storage Inspection - Inventory (qmptc2130m000)

When you want to inspect an item in inventory, you must know where the item is stored. Use this session to display the lot(s), warehouse(s), or location(s) of the item to be inspected.

You also use this session to allocate the items to be inspected. You can add or delete inventory lines, or modify the Order Quantity if:

  • the storage inspection status is Free or:
  • the storage inspection status is Active, and none of the inspection order lines has status Completed.

If you add new inventory lines, or the Order Quantity is increased, the sample size will be updated for all the inspection orders of this inspection, due to the new order quantity.

If you delete existing inventory lines, or if you decrease the Order Quantity, the new sample size required (because of the new order quantity after the deleting or changing) must not be smaller than the total sample quantity already drawn for any inspection order of this inspection in the Inspection Order - Samples (qmptc2110m000) session.

Item
In LN, the raw materials, subassemblies, finished products, and tools that can be purchased, stored, manufactured, sold, and so on.

An item can also represent a set of items handled as one kit, or exist in multiple product variants.

You can also define nonphysical items, which are not held in inventory but can be used to post costs or to invoice services to customers. The following are examples of nonphysical items:

  • Cost items (for example, electricity)
  • Service items
  • Subcontracting services
  • List items (menus/options)
Note
  • Standard items are expressed in an item code.
  • Segmented items consist of a project code segment and an item base segment (the item code of the customized item). The segments an item can consist of are defined in the Item Code Segmentation (tcibd0500m000) session.
Sequence
The sequence number identifies the storage inspections for a particular item.
Inspection Status
The inspection status indicates the current status of the inspection order. The status is changed during several sessions.
Warehouse
A place for storing goods. For each warehouse, you can enter address data and data relating to its type.
Location
A distinct place in a warehouse where goods are stored.

A warehouse can be divided into locations to manage the available space, and to locate the stored goods. Storage conditions and blocks can be applied to individual locations.

Lot
The unique code of the lot.
Inventory Date
A date that is assigned to items when they are stored. You can use inventory dates to retrieve items based on FIFO (First In First Out) or LIFO (Last In First Out), without carrying out extensive lot control.

The meaning of the inventory date is connected to the outbound priority of LIFO, FIFO, or the product expiry date of the item.

With outbound priority LIFO or FIFO, the default for the inventory date is the system date; however, you can overwrite this so that the inventory date does not have to be equal to the storage date. If the item has a particular shelf life, the inventory date is the product expiry date defined for the item.

Order Quantity
The quantity for which the inspection is required. Consequently, the result of the inspection order concerns the quality of this quantity.
Total Order Quantity
The physical quantity in which an item or good is managed. For example, a quantity of wood can be expressed as a length by using the unit of one meter, or as a volume by using the unit of one cubic meter.
Recommended Quantity Destroyed
The total quantity destroyed during a destructive test, expressed in the order unit. The quantity destroyed is equal to the sample size of the inspection orders that are tested by means of destructive tests.

The quantity destroyed does not have any impact on the accepted or rejected quantities. LN only calculates the quantity that is destroyed according to the test.

Recommended Quantity Accepted
The quantity to be accepted, as recommended by the Quality package, expressed in the inventory unit. The total of all sample quantities which passed the tests successfully.
Recommended Quantity Rejected
The quantity to be rejected as recommended by the Quality package, expressed in the inventory unit. The total of all sample quantities which do not have the required quality level.
