Installation Log files

If an installation fails, the user of the Installation Wizard must check log files to find out why the installation failed. The Installation Wizard contains several inner programs that log their information to different locations under different circumstances. This chapter describes where to find the various log files and what to expect. Infor recommends that you compare date and time of the logged strings with the time the failure occurred. In many cases, this can help to locate the problem.

The Installation Wizard is always started on a Windows Client machine. If the installation must be carried out to a non-Windows machine, such as UNIX, the Client and Server are different. This situation is discussed in "Client," later in this chapter.

The section "BaanERPClient.log" describes all issues for the machine on which you install the software.

The Installation Wizard handles all issues for the machine on which you start the Installation Wizard.
