Project pegging in Sales

To identify costs, demand, and supply for a project, in Infor LN 10.2.1, you can implement project pegging and specify the items for which project pegging is required.

Project pegging in Sales includes the pegging of project costs for sales order lines and sales quotation lines. If project pegging is mandatory for the item on the sales order line or quotation line, a peg must be specified, which is a combination of project/budget, project element and/or project activity. For example, if demand is pegged for a sales order line, the goods are sold for and the costs are booked to the project, element, and activity on the sales order line.

A peg must be specified when planned inventory transactions are generated for the sales order line or quotation line. For sales quotation lines this means that the peg is not mandatory when the Probability Percentage is lower than the value specified in the Minimum Probability Percentage for Consideration in Time Phased Invy field of the Sales Quotation Parameters (tdsls0100s100) session. However, when you confirm a sales quotation line, the peg is always mandatory.

The sales peg is copied to all relevant objects further in the process, such as Warehousing, Invoicing, Procurement, or Shop Floor Control. If the target object uses peg distributions, the sales peg is copied to a distribution line.

New fields

Peg in sales orders

In sales orders, these project pegging-related fields were added:

  • The Project field was added to the sales order header in the Sales Orders (tdsls4100m000) session. The value in this field is the default value for the Project field on the sales order lines and can only include projects from the Project package. Therefore, the Project field on the sales order line can now be used for projects from both Project and Manufacturing.
  • The Element and Activity fields were added to the Sales Order Lines (tdsls4101m000) session.

Peg in sales quotations

In sales quotations, these project pegging-related fields were added:

  • The Budget field was added to the sales quotation header in the Sales Quotations (tdsls1500m000) session. The value in this field is the default value for the Budget field on the sales order lines and can only include budgets from the Project package. Therefore, the Budget field on the sales quotation line can now be used for budgets from both Project and Manufacturing.
  • The Element for Budget, Activity for Budget, Element for Project, and Activity for Project fields were added to the Sales Quotation Lines (tdsls1501m000) session.
Note

These fields were also added to the sales order and quotation (line) history sessions.

When a sales quotation is processed to a sales order, the peg is copied as follows:

  • If you specify only the Budget, Element for Budget, and Activity for Budget fields on a quotation line, these fields are copied to the sales order line peg fields.
  • If you specify the Budget, Element for Budget, Activity for Budget, Project, Element for Project, and Activity for Project fields on a quotation line, the budget related peg fields are ignored, and the project peg fields are copied to the sales order line peg fields.
  • If you specify the Budget field on the quotation header, the budget is copied to the project on the sales order header. However, if one of the quotation lines has a project specified that differs from the quotation line budget, the sales order header project is blank.
