General Ledger

This topic describes the differences between the General Ledger module in Infor LN FP6 and in Infor LN 10 that are not already discussed in other differences topics.

Infor LN FP6

In Infor LN FP6, only five dimensions could be defined.

New in Infor LN 10
  • Increased number of dimensions
In Infor LN 10, up to twelve dimension types can be defined.
  • Customized integration and tax reports

In Infor LN 10, functionality is introduced that allows users to create customized integration and tax reports.

To facilitate customized integration transactions reports, the Streamed Reporting tab was added to the Print Extended Integration Transactions by Business Object (tfgld4482m100) session. On this tab, a user must specify a flexible reporting code, and some other selection and export data.

    Note

In addition to its primary (financial reporting) purpose, this reporting functionality might also be used for analysis of technical issues. For that purpose, temporary flexible reporting codes could be defined which group the fields that deserve a closer look. For example, Consultancy and Support departments could define these temporary codes for analyzing reported data issues. In that case, also "non-functional" predefined fields can be added to the selectable fields list.

  • Improved integration mapping for "fast-moving" dimensions
Dimension mapping is improved for situations in which a dimension mapping is done based on a single element. If the dimension element group contains just one element code, users can indicate whether the dimension code should be retrieved from the element value itself when the actual dimension mapping is done. As a result, the time required to set up dimension mapping for such dimensions is greatly reduced. This will especially apply to "fast-moving" dimensions, such as projects.
  • Additional information fields for tax analysis
Additional information fields can be added to and maintained for interim tax transactions, and, accordingly, tax analysis. Users can update the additional information until the status of the data is either Finally Printed or Selected for Declaration.
  • New session for batch status inquiry
For ease of inquiry, the Financial Batches (tfgld1500m000) session is introduced.
  • New multiline session for recurring journals
To enter large numbers of lines, the Recurring Journal - Transactions (tfgld0140m100) session is introduced.
  • New multiline session for transaction schedules
Entry of transaction schedules has been improved by the introduction of the Transaction Schedules (tfgld0512m000) session.
