Sales ControlThis topic describes the sales differences between Infor LN FP6 and Infor LN 10 that are not already discussed in other Differences topics. Back orders for shipping constraint Ship Kit Complete In Infor LN FP6, if a main item must be delivered as a whole, which is determined by the Ship Kit Complete shipping constraint, lack of inventory results in the postponement of shipment of the main item. For the Ship Kit Complete shipping constraint in Infor LN 10, shipment of the main item is no longer postponed, but a back order is generated for the main item. For more information, refer to The Ship Kit Complete constraint. Fixed warehouse - single delivery ATP check In Infor LN 10, the ATP check Fixed WH Single Delivery is added to the ATP Handling (tdsls4899m000) session. Insert sales quotation lines from catalog In Infor LN FP6, you can create sales order lines by inserting items from a catalog. For sales quotation lines, this is not possible. In Infor LN 10, this functionality is also available for sales quotations. As a result, the Insert from Catalog command is added to the Sales Quotation Lines (tdsls1501m000) session. For more information, refer to To use templates and catalogs in sales orders and quotations. Item not mandatory on sales quotation lines In Infor LN FP6, you cannot create sales quotation lines if no item code is specified on the lines. In Infor LN 10, the Item can be left empty and a description for a new item can be entered in the Item Description field of the Sales Quotation Lines (tdsls1501m000). Therefore, you can include existing and new items on sales quotation lines. However, quotation lines with an empty item code cannot be converted to a sales order. Manual activities awaiting delivery In Infor LN FP6, manual activities that follow the Release Sales Orders to Warehousing (tdsls4246m000)/ Maintain Deliveries Sales Order Lines (tdsls4101m200) and precede the Release Sales Orders/Schedules to Invoicing (tdsls4247m000) activities, which you can define in the Sales Order Type - Activities (tdsls0694m000) session, can always be executed before the goods are actually delivered. In the Sales Order Type - Activities (tdsls0694m000) and Sales Order Types (tdsls0594m000) sessions of Infor LN 10, the Manual Activities Awaiting Delivery check box is introduced. With this check box, you can specify whether or not manual activities can be executed for the order type if the ordered goods are still to be expected and SLS does not control the delivery of the goods. In this way, you can prevent an order to be maintained on two different places: in Warehousing or Purchase Control and in Sales Control. Order weight on sales order In Infor LN 10, the new Order Weight field is introduced in the Sales Order - Lines (tdsls4100m900) session. To calculate the total weight of the ordered items on the sales order lines, click Calculate. Print sales schedule quantities overview If you use planned warehouse orders, it is not always easy to see how schedule deliveries relate to sales schedule lines. To simplify this, in Infor LN 10, the Print Sales Schedule Quantities Overview (tdsls3407m500) session is introduced. Sales order status Suspended In Infor LN FP6, the Suspended sales order status is reserved for sales orders that are being handled by CRM. In LN, you cannot maintain sales orders with this status. In Infor LN 10, all sales orders with an origin other than Manual can obtain the Suspended status. Sales orders with this status cannot receive the Free status, because they are being worked on. Suspended sales orders cannot be maintained. Sales schedule (line) status Replaced In Infor LN FP6, a sales schedule line receives the Canceled status when a sales schedule (revision) is terminated or when it is replaced by a new revision. To distinguish between these situations, in Infor LN 10, the following are applicable:
Sales schedule price changes In Infor LN FP6, if a sales schedule is linked to a contract, the price and discounts cannot be changed or recalculated after the sales schedule is approved and planned warehouse orders are created. If a contract's price and discount change during the lead time of the sales schedule line, the delivered amount of the shipped goods does not reflect the actual contract price information. To redetermine the price and discounts during shipment for a sales schedule that is linked to a contract, in Infor LN 10, the new Redetermine Price and Discounts at Shipment check box is added to the Sales Contract Lines (tdsls3501m000) session. If this check box is selected, and a sales schedule is linked to this contract line, the delivered amount of the shipped goods reflects the actual contract price information. Ship & carry forward for planned warehouse
orders In Infor LN FP6, for planned warehouse orders, the Ship & Carry Forward check box in the Sales Contract Line Logistic Data (tdsls3102m000) session determines whether lack of item inventory results in addition of the remaining required quantity to the next planned warehouse order or whether a back order is generated for the planned warehouse order. In Infor LN 10, more options are added for handling the remaining required quantity for planned warehouse orders. Therefore, the Ship & Carry Forward field is no longer a check box, but a list box with the following options:
