To order items in PCFIf customers often select a specific configuration in PCF, either on end item or subassembly level, you can create standard items for these so-called fast runners in the Item Base Data (IBD) module. However, if standard-to-order items are customized, two limitations can occur:
In Infor LN FP3, you can use the Use Standard to Order Item BOM check box in the Product Configuration Parameters (tipcf0100m000) session to avoid these limitations. Exploding standard items In Infor LN FP2, if you select a subassembly during product configuration for which a standard-to-order item is present in inventory, the standard-to-order item is used in the BOM, but its components are derived from the generic (derived-from) item. In Infor LN FP3, if the Use Standard to Order Item BOM check box is selected, you can choose a subassembly for which a standard-to-order item is defined in IBD. During generation of the PCS project, the standard item as well as the BOM components of the standard item are selected in the customized BOM. If you clear the Use Standard to Order Item BOM check box, the Infor LN FP2 situation still applies. Multiple standard items in PCF In Infor LN FP2, a customized standard-to-order subassembly can only be used once in a PCS project. After a specific subassembly is used in the first parent item, you cannot use a similar subassembly in a second parent item anymore. In Infor LN FP3, the Use Standard to Order Item BOM check box is introduced in the Product Configuration Parameters (tipcf0100m000) session. If you select this check box, a similar customized standard-to-order subassembly can be used in several parent items for the same project. If you clear the Use Standard to Order Item BOM check box, the Infor LN FP2 situation still applies. Note The Use Standard to Order Item BOM check box serves also another purpose, which is described in
