Using personal default values

Many sessions enable you to store default values for the settings of the session. Every time you start the same session, you can restore the last saved default values.

The default values are user specific and are stored per company. So, for the same session, you can store different default values in different companies.

Typical sessions in which you can use defaults are:

  • Print sessions
  • Sessions in which you start a calculation procedure
  • Sessions in which you confirm, approve, or release orders
  • Other sessions that operate on a range of records
Example

If you often print a collection of addresses in the Print Addresses (tccom4430m000) session, you can use the following procedure to save time:

  1. Enter the most commonly used ranges of Address Code, Search Key, Country, City, and so on.
  2. Specify the sort order.
  3. Specify whether the addresses' texts must be printed as well.
  4. Click Save Defaults.

The next time you print addresses, you click Get Defaults to retrieve the previously stored default values.

Defaults for date values

If a session contains date values, for example, the Cost Price Calculation Date field in the Calculate Cost and Valuation Prices (ticpr2210m000) session, you can save the default value in these ways:

  • As an absolute date value.

The next time you get the default values, LN displays the same date.

  • As a difference with the current date.

For example, if you entered yesterday's date, and stored the difference with the current date as default value, the default value of the date field is defined as the date before the current date.

If a session has date values and you click Save Defaults, LN asks you whether you want to store the difference between the entered date and the system date. The system date equals the current date.
