Notification Center Configuration

You can configure Notification Center settings by creating a new Notification Center configuration or modifying an existing one. To configure, select Configuration > OS > Notification Center Configuration from the Process Server Administrator. You can create Notification Center Configuration at the process level or activity level. If you create the configuration at the process level, it overrides any delivered configuration and applies it to all User Action nodes in that process. If you create the configuration at the activity level, it overrides the process‑level or delivered configuration for that specific activity only, while other activities in the process continue to follow the process‑level or delivered configuration.

Note: You can view delivered configurations in Notification Center Delivered Configuration but cannot modify them. Instead, you can create a configuration from it that can be modified.

The Notification Center Configuration page enables you to perform these tasks:

  • Configure the data to send in preview mode
  • Configure search tags to use for searching tasks in the Notification Center
  • Assign a priority to work items
  • Specify a category to work items

Search tags

Search tags in the Notification Center are keyword labels that are attached to work items. These labels are used to filter and search for the most relevant tasks in the Notification Center. For example, you can generate tags, such as Over10Pct or Over20Pct, based on the pay rate change to search for tasks over 10 percent or 20 percent pay rate changes.

You can configure up to 10 search tags in the Notification Center Configuration page. These tags may be hardcoded value or determined dynamically during flow execution using variables. To view all the search tags associated with a work item, hover over the tag icon for the work item in the Notification Center.

Priority

Notification Center Configuration enables you to set a work item priority. You can set a fixed priority in an approval flow or set it dynamically by using the Priority Variable option.

Category

You can specify a category for each configuration at the process or activity level to categorize different types of work items in the Notification Center. Categories are hardcoded values. If you leave the category empty, the work item is displayed as a Task in the Notification Center.
