Verifying work item delivery to Notification Center

Only users assigned to a work item can see it in the Notification Center. To verify if a work item is successfully sent to the Notification Center, check the Notification Center status of a work unit.

  1. In the Process Server Administrator, select Administration > Work Units > Work Units.
  2. Double-click the work unit to verify.
  3. Click the Error Message tab and ensure that no errors are found. If there are any errors, open it and verify that the errors are not related to UA activity or the Notification Center interface.
  4. Click the User Actions tab and open the record.
  5. Check the Notification Center Status field and verify these values:
    • 0 or empty: Notification Center interface is not enabled. Verify that the correct configuration parameter is set with the proper value.

      See IPA work item notification configuration.

    • 1: Work item is still waiting to be sent or has failed. If the work item failed, an error message related to it is displayed. Failed items are retried up to five times at 30-minute intervals.
    • 2: Work item is sent successfully to the Notification Center.
    • 3: Work item is completed or closed in the Notification Center. This status is displayed after an action is taken on the work item.
    • 4: Work item is cancelled in the Notification Center. This status is displayed after a work item is cancelled or if an unassigned user or administrator takes action on it.
    Note: All errors related to sending work items to Notification Center are logged in the Error Messages tab of the work unit, and the same information is recorded in the grid log, as shown in this example:

    Notification Center Error: Data Area:{0} Work Unit: {1} Error: {2}
