Configuring notifications

Use this procedure to configure notifications for work unit metrics in WMAS. You can configure notifications by specifying thresholds, time ranges to ignore, and notification preferences.

  1. In Process Server Administrator, select Administration > Work Unit Monitoring and Alerting > Work Unit Monitoring Dashboard.
  2. Double-click a work unit metric to configure.
  3. Click the Notification tab and click Create.
  4. On the Notification Form page, specify this information:
    Type
    Select the metric type to configure.
    Note: If Compound is selected, you must select comparison operators and specify values for throughput, utilization rate, or backlog rate to define when alerts occur. This option is available only when configuring notifications for the backlog rate metric.
    Threshold
    Specify the threshold value at which notifications occur. Notifications occur only when the configured metric exceeds the threshold.
    Ignore From and Ignore To
    Specify the time range during which notifications are ignored. Any notifications occur during this period are not sent.
    Notify
    Select this check box to receive notifications through Landmark and email.
    From Address
    Specify the email address to use for sending notifications. This field is automatically filled, but you can change it if you prefer to use a different address.
    Users
    Specify the users who must receive the notification. This field is automatically filled based on the actor profile you are signed in with, but you can add additional users if needed.
    Subject
    Optionally, specify the subject line for the email notification.
    Send Once
    Select this check box to receive the notification only once.
  5. Click Save.
    Note: Notifications are sent at 30 and 60 minutes. If the Send Once check box is not selected, notifications are sent every 60 minutes until the issue is fixed.
