Interface tour
The application window is titled IRIS Filing Gateway and is organized into three areas: the header, the content area, and the status bar.
Header
The header is displayed at the top of every screen and contains these items:
- Application title: The text "IRIS Filing Gateway" on the left.
- IRS Environment toggle: A segmented control labeled "IRS Environment:" with two options, Test and Production. This sets the IRS environment you intend to authenticate and transmit to.
- Home button: A home icon that returns you to the Transmission History page. The button is displayed during a transmission workflow or when you view transmission details.
- Theme switcher: Changes the visual theme (light, dark, or high contrast). The selected theme is retained when you next open the application.
Content area
The content area shows the current view: the Transmission History page, a transmission workflow (Select Files, Authenticate, Transmit), or the details for a selected batch.
Status bar
The status bar runs along the bottom of the window. The left side shows a status message describing the most recent action, for example "Ready" when the application is idle. The right side shows the static label "IRS IRIS A2A | 1099 Processing". Status messages are also announced to assistive technology. The status bar also includes an Open logs button to open the diagnostic log folder for support purposes.
