Configuring the ScheduleWorkUnitDeletion maintenance request action

ScheduleWorkUnitDeletion maintenance request action is used to purge all work unit types from PfiWorkunit, including User Action work units. A work unit is a data structure used for process flow invocation, containing runtime metadata such as the actor, start and end times, restart counts, and links to optional runtime logs. Child classes store related information, including activities such as approvals, error messages, and variables.

Use this procedure to configure the ScheduleWorkUnitDeletion action and define which work units are deleted during a purge operation.

  1. Click Parameters on the Action Request page.
  2. Specify this information:
    Process Name
Specify a process from which to purge work units. Use this optional filter to limit deletion to work units that belong to a specific process or flow definition. You cannot use this field together with Service Name.
    Service Name
Specify a service from which to purge work units. Use this optional filter to limit deletion to work units that belong to a specific service definition. You cannot use this field together with Process Name.
    Begin Date
Specify the start date for the range of work units to purge. Work units with a close date that falls on or after this date are included for deletion. For work units with a Not Ready status, the creation date is used instead of the close date. You must specify either an End Date or End Days when using this field. You cannot use this field together with a work unit range, including Begin Work Unit and End Work Unit.
    End Date
Specify the end date for the range of work units to purge. Work units with a close date that falls on or after this date are included for deletion. For work units with a Not Ready status, the creation date is used instead of the close date. When used with Begin Date, it defines the range of work units to purge. You cannot use this field together with End Days.
    Begin Days
Specify the beginning of the purge range as a number of days before the current date. Use this field together with End Days to define a relative date range. For example, specifying 90 for Begin Days and 30 for End Days deletes work units that closed between 90 days ago and 30 days ago. You can use this field only when End Days is specified and you cannot use this together with Begin Date.
    End Days
Specify the end of the purge range as a number of days before the current date. The end date is calculated by subtracting the specified number of days from the current date. For example, specifying 30 for End Days deletes work units that closed 30 or more days ago. Use this field instead of End Date when defining a relative date range.
    Begin Work Unit
Specify the starting work unit ID in a range of work units to purge. All work units from this ID through the End Work Unit value are included for deletion. You must specify an End Work Unit when using this field. You cannot use this field together with a date range options, including Begin Date, End Date, and End Days.
    End Work Unit
Specify the ending work unit ID in a range of work units to purge. All work units between Begin Work Unit and this value are included for deletion. The value must be greater than or equal to the Begin Work Unit value. You cannot use this field together with date range options, including Begin Date, End Date, and End Days.
