Printing content to PDF
For the purposes of this topic, "content" is defined as the item you are currently viewing, for example, a list, a report, a form, a page.
Options for exporting to PDF can be accessed through the options menu. From the menu, select Export to PDF.
On the Export to PDF dialog box, make selections for these options.
- Select (horizontal, default) or (vertical)
- Paper Size: Many options for paper size are available for selection. Select a size that is compatible with the paper you plan to print on.
- Font Offset: A large data set might have more information than can display effectively in a PDF file. For this reason, options for reducing the font size are available.
- Record Limit: Default is 5,000. Other options are No Limit, Larger (250,000), Small (100). You can also select Specify Record Limit which prompts you to manually input the number of records.
- Print Options: If this option displays on the
dialog box, it means the list or report you are printing has features, such as, detail
tabs, for which you can select printing options. The available options vary depending on
the report. For example, you might see:
- Current List Only: This means the list you are currently viewing.
- Current List with Details: If detail tabs are available on the current list, you can include them.
- Selected Record with Details: If you have selected an individual record in a report with a details tab, use this option to print complete details for the record.
- Include Search Form: When this option is selected, the criteria used to search for records is included in the output file. If no search was used, do not select this option.
Sharing tab: If your site has created distribution groups, you can select options for sending the completed print file the group. The options available for sharing vary depending on the profile of the group. For example, some groups allow you to share print files with actors who are not in the group, other groups do not allow this.
