Working with the UI Access Control feature
Customers can use the UI Access Control feature to create role-based access policies
for web application content, including their associated navigation items and for
Infor-delivered reports.
The feature, which is included with the Security Administration web application, provides a simple interface for denying access. Writing LPL is not required.
Note:
UI Access Control provides role-based visibility to links. Security to the underlying data and actions associated with a business class must be secured through Landmark Security.
Note the following important properties of the UI Access Control feature:
- When UI Access Control configuration is active, it supersedes security classes that might have been created for the same components. Navigation access control is activated for a web app when one policy is activated. Otherwise, normal security is in charge.
- Data and actions cannot be secured through the UI Access Control feature. Security classes must be created for these items.
Administrators must have one of these roles to use the UI Access Control feature:
- ConfigConsoleSecurityAdmin_ST
- SecurityConfigAccess_ST
- An equivalent role created at your site
