Validating replication data

Use this procedure to validate business class data replicated to columnar or Data Lake. This action compares the columnar or Data Lake store data with the business class rowstore data and reports mismatches.

See Replication validation.

  1. To change the default setting for the maximum number of records to process per date chunk, set up MaxRecordsPerValidationDateChunk configuration parameters.
  2. In the Administration Console, select Replication.
  3. In the Replication Sets panel, click on the Maintain tab and select the replication set that contains the business class whose replicated columnar or Data Lake data to validate.
  4. On the list of business classes for the replication set, select and open the business class whose replicated columnar or Data Lake data to validate.
  5. On the Validation Information tab, specify this information:
    Replication Set Field
Select a date field from the business class or from the Replication Set Client Field.
Optionally, you can select the Validate All Data check box. If you select this option and there are a greater number of records than the allowed maximum for date chunking, the validation fails.
    Offset Option
If you select a date field, then select the offset to use for selecting records. The valid values are This Week, This Month, This Year, Specific Date, and Offset Days. If you select Specific Date, you need to specify a date. If you select Offset Days, you need to specify a number representing the number of days before current date.
    Disable Condition
Selecting this option disregards the condition on the replication set during validation. Select this option if the replication set includes a condition that references other than persistent fields that reside on the business class such as derived fields, user fields, or related fields.
    Condition Override
If the replication set has a condition to override, select the Disable Condition check box and optionally specify a new condition.

    See Replication validation.

  6. Click Save.
  7. Specify one or more checksum fields.
    1. On the Validation Check Sum Fields tab, click Create.
    2. Specify this information:
      Name
Specify a descriptive name for the checksum field.
      Replication Set Field
Select a field from the replication set to use as the field.
      Instance Count
To count the records, select the Instance Count check box instead of selecting a field in the Replication Set Field field. You can specify a condition for the instance count.
      Condition
Specify a condition, if necessary. Specify a single Check Sum field condition that contains only persistent fields residing on the business class. Related fields and user fields are not allowed.
    3. Click Save and repeat these steps to add more checksum fields, up to a maximum of 10.
  8. On the Replication Class page for the business class whose data you are validating, click the Ellipsis button and select Validate Data.
  9. Review the results on the Validation Results tab.
