Handling failures or misfires
Use the Failure Strategy tab to make selections for how an action behaves when it does not complete successfully.
For a failed action, you can configure automatic retries with a defined number of attempts. To use this option, use the Number of Retries field to specify how many times the action should be attempted before it is reported as failed.
A misfire is when a background action fails to run on time. These are the options to handle a misfire:
- Specify a threshold, after which an action is considered failed due to delay. In the Threshold field, specify the number of minutes.
- Specify a strategy using these options:
- Do Nothing: The request is ignored.
- Run Once: Only one of the missed events, there may be several if scheduled, is run.
- Run All Processes Scheduled: All of the missed events, there may be several if scheduled, are run.
- Specify Report Options using these valid entries:
- No Report
- Report All Processes.
The reports created are AsyncActionMisfire records.
