Creating Schedule Exclusion templates
Use this procedure to create schedule exclusion templates. Schedule exclusion templates is used to quickly add a set of exclusion rules when you schedule a background action.
- In the Async Administrator, select Setup > Schedule.
- In the Schedule Exclusions section, click Create.
- On the Schedule Exclusion form, specify this information:
- Schedule Template
- Specify a name for the schedule exclusion template.
- Description
- Specify a description for the schedule exclusion template.
- Exclude When
- Select Any Match to prevent an action from running if any of the schedule exclusion rules specified below match on a calculated schedule time. Select All Match to prevent an action from running only if all of the schedule exclusion rules specified below match on a calculated schedule time.
- Roll Type
- Select Skip to ignore the roll option and wait for the next valid schedule. Select any interval unit to roll the scheduled time.
- Roll Interval
-
Specify the number of intervals by which the schedule should move when a scheduled time falls on an excluded schedule. You can roll the scheduled time forward or backward. To move the scheduled time backward, enter a negative number.
Note: When rolling is defined, the roll interval and the roll type determine the unit and direction of the roll. For example, if the roll type is set to Day and roll interval is 1, the scheduled time is moved forward by one day at a time. If the first rolled time is still excluded, the process continues rolling. The rolling only stops when a non-excluded time is found based on your defined unit and interval, or when the maximum number of attempts is reached. If a schedule rolls successfully, the new rolled time becomes the starting point of the next scheduled occurrence.
- Roll Attempts
-
Select the number of attempts to make when rolling the scheduled time. The maximum number of attempts you can set is 10.
Note: When a Schedule Exclusion is used in a Schedule Exclusion Set, the roll options defined in the Exclusion set override those in the individual Schedule Exclusion.
- Specify the schedule exclusion rules for the template. Use the available fields to define rules for specific dates (year, month, and day), for weeks (specific days within the week, specific weeks with the month, and specific weeks within the year), and for times (hour and minute).
- Click Save.
