Understanding how Infor Process Automation channels work
Infor Process Automation channels provide a means of communication between Infor Process Automation and external sources. Currently, Infor Process Automation provides channels for two types of external sources: Java Message Service (JMS) and files, which is information received through files that are stored on disk, local or remote.
Information received through channels is used to create and trigger workunits.
Defining channels
Use the Channels administration tool available through the Process Server Administrator to define a channel and its receiver or multiple receivers.
Managing running channels
When a channel has been created and activated, the background program, ManageChannelsImpl, which runs in the Grid, controls the execution of all channels, receivers, and related processes in a given data area.
In addition to defining channels, administrators can use the configuration/administration tool for these tasks:
-
Activate channels
-
Enable or disable, and activate or deactivate channels
-
Monitor channel execution
-
Perform maintenance
