Verifying .jar files required for JDBC connections

You must verify external .jar files required for JDBC connections. This type of connection is required for processes that include activity nodes that use JDBC such as the SQL Transaction activity node, the SQL Query activity node, and the ION activity nodes.

Note: Starting with the 2024.10 release, these activity nodes will be deprecated and removed from the Infor Process Designer (IPD) tool, Infor Process Designer for the Web (IPD Web), and runtime server:
  • SQL Query
  • SQL Transaction
Additionally, these nodes are no longer supported in multi-tenant environments and will be removed on a later date. See KB3522595.

JDBC drivers must be installed on the Infor Process Automation server and on each machine that uses Infor Process Designer (IPD).

The sections in this chapter describe which .jar files are required and in which locations on the server and on the computer that runs Designer they must be installed.

JDBC driver .jar files delivered by Infor Landmark Technology Runtime

As a convenience to customers, Infor Landmark Technology Runtime delivers the .jar files shown in the table and installs them to required locations on the IPA server and on the Designer.

Verify that the files you need are in this location: LACFGDIR/LPS/jars

Note: Database vendors can change their requirements for driver files at any time. For this reason, you should check your database vendor's website for the latest information about database drivers before you install. This applies even if your database drivers were delivered by Lawson.

To verify the JDBC driver .jar files on the server, use this table:

Platform Jar files

UNIX

Windows

db2jcc4.jar

db2jcc4_license_cu.jar

Microsoft SQL Server sqljdbc4.jar
