Security Class Inheritance: Overview
Using the security class inheritance option when creating a custom class can save time with
initial creation and with managing updates.
Note: Inheritance can also
be added to an existing class.
Suppose a complex class is delivered by Infor that provides wide access to financial applications and data. Most of the rules in the class apply to your site but some require minor tweaks. Instead of rebuilding the delivered class from scratch, which could be time-consuming, you can create it using the inheritance option. Then you can make required changes to the new class.
When Infor delivers a new version of the complex class, the class created using inheritance is automatically updated except for the rules that you changed. The rules you changed are not overridden when the delivered class is updated.
Note: Infor recommends that any time updated classes are delivered, you
review them at your site to ensure that the changes are appropriate for the roles that have
been assigned to them.
