Configuring Pretty Good Privacy (PGP): General information
PGP stands for Pretty Good Privacy (PGP) which is a data encryption and decryption system that provides cryptographic privacy and authentication for data communication. PGP is often used for signing, encrypting and decrypting texts, emails, files, directories and whole disk partitions to increase the security of email communications.
Infor Security supports the PGP protocol for sending and receiving encrypted files from one Infor system to another.
For example, Infor customers who use Infor HR Service Delivery (HRSD) might use PGP when they need to send a file containing salary and other sensitive data from Infor HR Talent to HRSD.
The protocol allows the file to be:
-
Encrypted by the sender
-
Decrypted by the recipient
Topics in this section describe how to create and modify key pairs and how to encrypt and decrypt files.
