Archiving a log file created through the ViewLog action

This step is optional but Infor recommends creating an archive of your existing log file before you make changes to logging configuration or perform a ClearLog action.

  • An FTP server is required to create an archive log file.

  • The FTP server must be configured through Landmark Configuration Parameters.

  • An FTP client is required to retrieve the data from the FTP server to Landmark. If you do not have an FTP client, you can obtain one from sources on the Internet.

  1. Access the Security Administration Console and select System Management > Security Logger > Security Logger Settings.
  2. Select ViewLog to view and save the previous log file, that is, the file you want to back up.
  3. On the Security Logger dialog box, in the Send Via field, select FTP.
  4. For Zip File Name, provide a name for the file. If you do not provide one, the name of the logger will be used. The file will be saved in the location you specified in Configuration Parameters.
  5. Use an FTP client to copy the log file from the FTP server.
