Managing snapshots
To manage snapshots, select Snapshots tab.
and click theSnapshots contain configurations, personalizations, and security classes, but not reports.
- To export a snapshot, select a snapshot and click . Specify the file name and click . The export function only exports the items that are listed in the Snapshot Items table.
- To import a snapshot, select a snapshot and click Importing snapshots. . Specify the file name and click . See
- To change a snapshot description, select a snapshot and click .
To view local, imported, and applied snapshots, select
.Local snapshots
Click the Local Snapshots tab to view snapshots that were created on the current system.
This table shows actions to manage local snapshots:

View snapshot information that has been attached in a file | Click Documentation. |
View the LPL at the time of the snapshot | Click the Snapshot LPL tab. |
View the LPL of the current configuration on the system | Click the Configuration LPL tab. |
View the differences between the LPL of the snapshot and the current configuration | Click the Configuration vs Snapshot tab. If there are no differences, No LPL changes is displayed. |
Imported snapshots
Click the Imported Snapshots tab to view snapshots that were imported from another system. These snapshots have not been applied to the current system. The system where the snapshot originated is listed in the Source field.
This table shows actions to manage imported snapshots:

Run a validation on the snapshot and view feedback as if the snapshot were active on the system | Click |
Apply the snapshot to the system | Click | .
Compare the current configuration with the incoming snapshot | Click the Configuration vs Incoming Snapshot tab. |
View the status for overall validation and emergency alerts | Click the Validation tab. |
View the LPL at the time of the snapshot | Click the Snapshot LPL tab. This is the LPL that goes live when you apply the snapshot. |
View the LPL of the current configuration on the system | Click the Configuration LPL tab. |
View the differences between the LPL of the snapshot and the current configuration | Click the Configuration vs Snapshot tab. If there are no differences, “No LPL changes” is displayed. |
View feedback for each item as if it were live | Click the Validation tab. Use this feedback to correct items before applying the snapshot. If the item passed validation, no Validation tab is displayed. If you try to apply a snapshot with failed validations, an error message is displayed. |
Applied snapshots
Click the Applied Snapshots tab to view snapshots from other systems that have been applied to the current system.
Before the snapshot is applied by the system, a backup copy is made of everything that is about to be changed.
This table shows actions to manage applied snapshots:

Compare the current system configuration with the applied snapshot | Click the Configuration vs Applied Snapshot tab. |
Verify that the rollback is still valid | Right-click the snapshot and select | .
Roll back the LPL from the snapshot to the previous version | Right-click the snapshot and select | . This action does not override subsequent changes if active changes have happened.
Reset the validation status of the rollback | Click | .
Restore the configurations to the state they were in before the snapshot was applied | Click | to overwrite any changes that were made after the snapshot was applied.
View the backups from the system before the change | Click the Rollback Details tab .
