Data replication overview
Data replication is a Landmark feature that enables you to copy selected data to several different targets and schedule updates to the replicated data based only on what data has changed. The replicated data can be used for a variety of purposes such as archiving or analysis by business analytic solutions.
You determine what data is replicated by defining replication sets. You can also use predefined replication sets delivered by Landmark applications (though there may be restrictions on the changes you can make to these replications sets).
To handle the processing of replications, Landmark includes two async queues. The Data Replication Queue handles various replication actions. For this queue, queue mapping fields are delivered that enable you to fine-tune the mappings if desired. The DataLakeBatchIngestion queue is for handling the batch ingestion process that sends data to the Data Lake. Note that the Max Active Actions setting for the DataLakeBatchIngestion should be kept at 1.
The starting point for working with data replication is the Replication page in the Database section of the Administration Console. That page includes numerous tabs that provide views of the current status of replication sets, ways to select and create new replication sets, and the means to analyze which replication sets a business class is included in.
When planning to create a replication set, consider the following aspects of replication sets. How you handle these aspects of a replication set depends on the purposes of the data replication you want to do.
