Landmark Administration Console configuration overview
For administrators to access and use the Landmark Administration Console, the administrator must install an FTP server, Landmark must be configured to recognize the FTP server, and roles with the appropriate security classes must be assigned to the users who need to use the Landmark Administration Console.
When configuring the Landmark Administration Console, you have two main choices to make:
- Where the FTP server should be installed.
If you have only one user who will access the Landmark Administration Console, then that user could install the FTP server on his or her own computer.
If many users will access the Landmark Administration Console, then the FTP server should be on a computer that all have access to.
- What kind of authentication approach to take.
You can configure FTP for the Landmark Administration Console by entering parameters that contain the user name and password of a single FTP user.
You can create a Landmark service to which one or more identities are assigned. You can then configure FTP for the Landmark Administration Console such that the service identities will be associated with the FTP user. In this way, multiple Landmark actors are linked to the FTP user.
