Pruning unnecessary workunit data by process

Workunit data cleanup prunes some workunit data for workunits with a status of Completed. You can configure Workunit Data Cleanup to run immediately after the workunit completion or after a number of days.

Set Workunit Data Cleanup on a process definition record and then schedule the Workunit Data Cleanup action.

  1. Access the Process Server Administrator and select Configuration > Process Definitions. Depending on the process you to configure, select User, System, or Application Defined Processes.
  2. From the list of available processes, open the process for which to prune data.
  3. On the Process Definition page, select the Workunit Data Cleanup tab and specify how to run the cleanup:
    Prune Workunit Data

    Select None, Immediate, or Scheduled.

    • None (default): There will be no cleanup of the workunit data.

    • Immediate: The cleanup runs immediately after the workunit’s successful completion.

    • Scheduled: The cleanup runs after the number of days you specified. When you select this option, specify the number of days to wait before cleaning up the workunit data in Days To Retain Before Pruning field.

  4. When you are finished making changes to the definition for the process, click Actions > Save.
  5. From the User, System, or Application Defined Processes list, select the process for which you configured to prune data.
  6. Select Actions > Schedule Workunit Data Cleanup.
  7. Complete the Schedule definition and click Finish.

See Scheduling an action to run in Infor Process Automation.

The Workunit Data Cleanup action will select all the processes that have the Scheduled option and determine the workunits to be cleaned up based on the Days To Retain Before Pruning you specified.

  8. You can view the cleanup action results on the Workunits display.
After workunit data cleanup successfully completes, the Workunit Pruned column will display Yes.
