Configurations, personalizations, and reports

Use the console pages to make changes. Access the console pages by selecting one of these paths:

  • Configuration Console > Configuration > Console
  • Configuration Console > Personalization > Console
  • Configuration Console > Report > Console

Use the master pages to sort, search, and compare records across your system. Access the master pages by selecting one of these paths:

  • Configuration Console > Configuration > Master
  • Configuration Console > Personalization > Master
  • Configuration Console > Report > Master

This table shows actions that you can perform for configurations, personalizations, and reports:

Function Instructions
Activate Select an item that is currently inactive and click Activate.
Compare against base Click the Compare Against Base link to compare the current LPL to the LPL that was delivered for the base user interface
Compare against current application version On the Console page for a configuration, right-click an item and select Drill Around > Compare Against Current Application Version.
Create list report On the Master page for a report, right-click a report and select Create List Report.

Deactivate Select an item that is currently active and click Deactivate.
Delete Right-click an item and select Delete.
Edit Edit the LPL.

Edit report On the Master page for a report, right-click a report and then select Edit Report.

Click an item on the console to view the LPL details.

A green check mark indicates that the configuration, personalization, or report is active. An orange triangle with an exclamation point indicates that it is inactive. A red circle with an exclamation point indicates that it is invalid.

Make configuration Select a personalization and click Make Configuration.

You can make a personalization into a configuration so that it is applied to all users of the system.

Make personalization Select a configuration and click Make Personalization.

You can change a global configuration to a user personalization that only affects your user interface. All users see the delivered behavior for the object except for you and any other users who have made personalizations for the object.

Manage invalid configurations Right-click a configuration and select Drill Around > Manage Invalid Configurations. Alternatively, you can access this function from the Home page.
Manage invalid personalizations Right-click a personalization and select Drill Around > Manage Invalid Personalizations. Alternatively, you can access this function from the Home page.
Manage invalid reports On the Console page for a report, right-click a report and select Drill Around > Manage Invalid Reports. Alternatively, you can access this function from the Home page.
My user reports On the Master page for a report, right-click a report and select Drill Around > My User Reports.
Override personalizations Right-click a personalization and select Override Personalizations.
Purge reports for actor On the Master page for a report, right-click a report and select Purge Reports for Actor.

Reassign owner On the Master page for a report, right-click a report and select Reassign Owner or Mass Reassign Owner.

Reset LPL to recreate the backing user list On the Master page for a report, right-click a report and select Reset LPL.
Search Specify the items to filter on, such as name, business class, type, actor, report name, or report owner, and click Search.
Search all configurations, personalizations, reports, and security classes with text matching the selected instance Right-click an item and select Drill Around > Find In LPL.

Share personalization Select a personalization and click Share or Share Personalization.

Sort By default, items are sorted by recently updated in ascending order. You can sort by recently updated, business view, ascending, or descending.
Summary report and detail report On the Master page for a configuration, select a record and click Summary Report or Detail Report.

Reports contain high-level information about configurations. This information is useful for support or project teams.

  • The summary report contains the business class, type, status, last changed date, and user who made the change.
  • The detail report contains information from the summary report and the LPL.
Tag item Right-click an item and select Tag Item.

Translation for user folder On the Master page for a report, right-click a report and select Drill Around > Translation For User Folder. Optionally, specify an ISO locale.
Update description Right-click an item and select Update Description. This description applies to the entire configuration.
Validate configurations Right-click an item and select Validate Configurations.
View a user list, field, key field, menu, page, web application, relation, or action On the Master page for a configuration or personalization, right-click an item, select Drill Around, and select one of these options:
  • User Action
  • User List
  • User Field
  • User Key Field
  • User Menu
  • User Page
  • User Relation
  • User Web App
View actor who made the last update Right-click an item and select Drill Around > View Actor Who Made Last Update.
