Configuring time zones

Use this procedure to activate a time zone, change the description, and change the default time zone for the data area.

For example, if your corporate headquarters are in Chicago, you can change the default data area to America/Chicago. You can change the display name from Central Standard Time to Chicago (Corporate).

Active time zones define the list of available time zones when setting a future effective date for action requests in applications. Initially, all time zones, except the default time zone, are set to inactive.

If an application form has been configured to include an Effective Time Zone field, users can select an active time zone. This selection triggers a system request to become effective at midnight in that time zone. If the user does not select a time zone, the default time zone for the data area is used. If there is no default time zone, the server time is used.

  1. Select Configuration Console > Data Area > Time Zones.
  2. To update a time zone, right-click the time zone and select a menu option.
