Setting up queue mappings

Use this procedure to set up queue mappings for async actions. For information on IPA queue mappings, see Setting up IPA queue mappings.

To set up queue mappings

  1. In the Async Administrator, select Setup.
  2. On the Async Setup page, select the Queues tab and select the queue that you want to set up queue mapping for.
  3. In the Queue Mappings for Queue section, click Create.
  4. On the Async Queue Mapping form use the following guidelines to enter field values.
    Async Queue Definition
Displays the queue that the queue mapping will apply to.
    Async Queue Mapping
This is a read-only field that the system will assign a value to.
    Email Address
Specify the email address of the person, for example, the system administrator, who should be notified about the status of items processed by this queue mapping. This can be a different email address than any specified on a queue or when scheduling an individual action request. You can also enter multiple emails, separated by commas.
    Notification Type
The notification type to determine when to send an email to the person specified in the Email Address field: Never, Always, or On Failure. This can be a different notification type than any specified on a queue or when scheduling an individual action request.
    Actor

An actor to use to determine whether a background execution task is assigned to this queue. Blank means any actor.

    Data Area

A data area to use to determine whether a background execution task is assigned to this queue. Blank means any data area.

    Class

A business class to use to determine whether a background execution task is assigned to this queue. Blank means any business class.

    Action

A specific action to use to determine whether a background execution task is assigned to this queue. Blank means any action. If you enter an Action value, you must also enter a value in the Class field.

    Mapping Field 1

This field applies to jobs, job streams, and scheduled PfiTriggers. For jobs and jobs streams of the task type and where the action is Run or Run Stream, you can set this field to the specific business class that the job or job stream was defined to process. For scheduled PfiTriggers, you can see this field to the specific service name (if the trigger is service based) or the specific flow (if the trigger is flow based). (Consult your Landmark application user guides to see if any additional classes and actions support the use of this field.)

    Mapping Field 2

This field applies to jobs and job streams. For jobs and jobs streams of the task type and where the action is Run or Run Stream, you can set this field to the specific action that the job or job stream was defined to process. (Consult your Landmark application user guides to see if any additional classes and actions support the use of this field.)

    Save History

Whether you want to save the queue history. The valid values are Queue Default (whether history is saved will be determined by the setting for the queue), Yes, and No.

Set this to Yes with caution as doing so can result in a large number of accumulated trigger history records.

    Priority

The priority for any processing done by the queue using this queue mapping.

Possible values are Critical, High, AboveNormal, Normal, BelowNormal, Low, and None (None means the action will never be executed).

    Log Producer Name

The log producer to use for problems or exceptions from triggers matching this queue mapping. If blank, the standard AsyncLogger is used.
