Setting up carriers
You can set up carriers using these methods: File Transfer Protocol (FTP) and Secure File Transfer Protocol (SFTP.)
- Access Process Server Administrator and select Configuration > Carrier Definitions.

To configure a new carrier, click Create.
To modify a carrier definition, select a carrier from the list and click Open.

On the EDI Carrier tab, specify this information:
- EDI Carrier
- Specify an EDI carrier. EDI carriers can have embedded spaces or special characters in the carrier field. Select Enabled if EDI carrier must be active.
- EDI Method
- Select the communications protocol to use. The provider combined with the method is used to describe the protocol in which data is exchanged. Select either FTP (File Transfer Protocol) or SFTP (Secure File Transfer Protocol).
- Host
- Specify addressing information for the carrier, for example, the IP address or the DNS name.
- Enable Host Key Checking
- This field is available if you select
SFTP as the EDI Method.
Select this option to restrict client access for only a certain host.
- Authentication Type
- This field is available if you select
SFTP as the EDI Method.
Select either User And Password, or User And Private Key.
- User
- Specify a login ID used to access the host, if one is required.
- Password
- This field is available if you FTP as the EDI Method.
Specify the password to access the host, if one is required.
- Sftp Password
- This field is available if you select
SFTP as the EDI Method and
User and Password as the
Authentication
Type.
Specify the password to access the host, if one is required.
- Private Key Path
- This field is available if you select
SFTP as the EDI Method and
User and Private Key as
the Authentication
Type.
Open the file dialog box, browse, and select the key.
- Passphrase
- This field is available if you select
SFTP as the EDI Method and
User and Private Key as
the Authentication
Type.
Specify the password to access the host, if one is required.
- Time Out (In Seconds)
- Specify the number of seconds before time out.
- Outbound Directory
- Specify the directory at your FTP or SFTP site provider from which you receive files.
- Outbound File
- Optionally, specify a value for the
outbound file. When files are uploaded to the server, the value is
followed by time stamp.
For example, if this field contained ACME, then the file on the server could be named ACME.20171015102359.
- Inbound Directory
- Specify a directory designated by your FTP or SFTP site provider into which files will be placed.
- Move Directory
- This is a directory at your FTP or SFTP site provider. If your site provider prefers that you move files to a different directory after receiving them, specify a Move Directory.
- Transfer Type
- This field is available if you select
FTP as the EDI Method.
Select either ASCII or Binary.
- Do Not Delete Files in The Server
- Select this option to configure IPA to
retain the files in the server.Note: If your organization or EDI vendor manually deletes files after it is transferred, select this option to avoid a break in the EDI inbound process.
- Continue On Inbound File Error
- Select this option to continue on inbound file error.
- Encrypt file before sending
- Specify the encrypt service name information.
- Decrypt file after receiving
- Specify the decrypt service name information.

On the Encrypt tab, specify this information:
Note: This tab is available if you select Encrypt file before sending.
- Encryption Type

Select PGP.
Currently, PGP is the only option available.
- Encryption Service Name

Specify the name of the service that contains the private key that was used to sign the data of the file.
- Sign
- Select this check box to sign the data of the file.
- Enable Integrity Packet
- Select this check box to encrypt data with the integrity packet. This option can be used if the receiving end requires data to be encrypted with the integrity packet for decrypting it.

Click Save.
Note: After the carrier record is configured and saved, you can click Test Connection.
