Creating a shortcut to an external application

If you need to frequently use an external application in conjunction with your Landmark application, you can create a shortcut to that application on your Infor Rich Client canvas.

  1. Select Start > Create > Shortcut.

    or

    Select Start > Library, click the Widgets tab, and drag the Shortcut widget to your canvas or select the Shortcut widget and click the Add To Canvas button.

    The short cut appears as "New Shortcut" with a yellow flag indicating that it has not yet been defined.

  2. Click the Settings (gear) icon on the Shortcut toolbar.
    Note: 

    Place your cursor on the shortcut to display the toolbar.

  3. On the Shortcut settings form, create the link to the application as follows:
    Name

    Enter the name of your shortcut. For example, "Word."

    Target or URL

    Type the path to the executable or click the Browse button, locate the executable file for the application, and double-click the executable file to add it to the shortcut.

    (For example, the Winword.exe file might be located in /Program Files/Microsoft Office/Office11.)

  4. Click Save.

    If your shortcut does not work, the yellow flag remains. Open it and enter the correct path.
