Managing the UI configuration cache

Use the Configuration Cache Manager to determine if caching issues are preventing you or other users from seeing your configurations.

The Configuration Cache Manager has these panes:

  • Cache JVMs: Contains the JVMs for the system that may be affected by configurations.
  • Caches: Contains the caches that exist for configurations.
    • There are separate caches for configuration types, such as forms, lists, folders, and menus.
    • Configurations that are applied to all users are listed as _global_ in the ID column.
    • There are caches based on each user who has created personalizations. Note the presence of personalizations in case that is the cause of a configuration not showing up for a user
  • Cache Detail: Contains the individual objects that have or potentially have configurations and personalizations.

Use this procedure to clear the cache. You can clear the cache for all configurations or for an individual configuration that you are working on. If a configuration change you have made is not displayed when you test it, consider clearing the cache for that configuration and then re-testing.

  1. Select Administration Console > Configuration and Personalization > UI Configuration Cache Manager or Configuration Console > Utilities > UI Configuration Cache Manager.
  2. Examine the details of the cache information.
  3. To clear the cache, select the cache to clear. From the Actions menu, select Clear Cache.
  4. To clear the cache detail, select the cache detail to clear. From the Actions menu, select Clear Cache Detail.
