Managing configurations

Use these best practices to manage configurations:

  • Document and enforce a policy with Infor recommendations.
  • Have a standard release schedule for testing, integration, and production deployments. We recommend monthly.
  • Centrally control tags and have a naming convention. For updates, use a tag that contains the month, year, and name of the application. For example, March21_HCM_Updates or April22_FSM_Updates.
  • Reconcile application changes in pre-production. We recommend pre-production because you have one month of early access to the next application version.
  • Move the bundle of changes through your normal development, testing, and deployment cycle.
  • Review each change on the target system where the new configuration changes are being moved.
  • Validate the changes. If the results are not clean, do not proceed.
  • Have release criteria, gates, and gatekeepers for moving and applying snapshots.
Note: If you have active configuration development, then reconcile development with your pre-production changes into your development tenant before moving the changes.
