Enablement options for SoHo 4UX

What is SoHo 4UX

Infor Landmark Technology Runtime web applications use the latest Infor user experience, called SoHo 4UX. These are some of the features that are included::

  • User devices are automatically detected and applications are displayed appropriately, meaning that all pages are now responsive, mobile-friendly, and adaptive.
  • Additional themes and improved contrast between labels and fields creates improved readability, alleviating eye strain and cognitive load.
  • The menu is now located on the left. Users can hide the menu and open it.
  • The application menu tree is collapsible and expandable and your actions are remembered.
  • Page load times are improved and form rendering is faster.
  • Check boxes are added to lists so that multiple selections are apparent. This feature works across devices.
  • Search forms and list filtering are now minimized by default.
  • There are field-level options (ellipses) on fields for Define, Audit, Text Variables, Drill Around, and so on. Ctrl + right-click is obsolete.
  • Field labels are displayed above field data, rather than labels on the left.
  • Composite forms now have one Save button for all form and related list changes.
  • Scrolling in most cases is at the page level, solving the containment and squished search form and lists issues of the previous UI.

Where is SoHo 4UX enabled

Newly provisioned Infor Landmark Technology Runtime multi-tenant Cloud tenants have the new SoHo 4 UX enabled by default. Existing multi-tenant Cloud tenants, single-tenant Cloud tenants, and on premises installations can enable it.

Enabling SoHo 4 UX for a parallel option

To enable SoHo 4UX for reviewing, testing, or training, you can use URL parameters and Infor Ming.le™ plugins. Using this method, clients can use both the current SoHo 3.x UX and the new SoHo 4UX simultaneously.

In Infor Ming.le, add a new Infor Global HR or CloudSuite Financials & Supply Management application. Add a parameter to the URL that enables SoHo 4UX.

Note: Because this Infor Ming.le application contains a custom logical ID, BI and Infor Ming.le drill backs do not launch forms in the parallel option. This does not affect UX 3 because the delivered FSM logical ID is used.
  1. Sign in as Infor Ming.le administrator and launch Admin Settings. Click Add Application to add a new Infor Non-Provisioned application.
  2. Specify this information:
    Application Name and Version
Click Infor Global HR - 11.0.0 or Infor CloudSuite Financials & Supply Management - 11.0.1.
    Display Name
Specify the name that is displayed under the icon in the Infor Ming.le App Switcher panel. Verify that this name is different from your existing Global HR or CloudSuite Financials & Supply Management. For example: Infor Global HR 4 UX or Infor CSF 4 UX.
    Application Icon
Click this button and select an icon color. Use a color that is different from your existing Global HR or CloudSuite Financials & Supply Management icon in the App Switcher panel.
    Logical ID
    Specify lid://infor.ghr.<make unique> or lid://infor.fsm.<make unique>.

    For example, lid://infor.fsm.9999 or lid://infor-lawson.ghr.soho4.

    Use HTTPS
Select this field to enable https.
    Host Name
Find your host name. Select Administration Console > Other > . See top of page or use Browser Tools or Fiddler.
    Port
This field must be blank. For multi-tenant clients, specify 443.
Note: Single tenant and on-premises clients may have different port numbers.
    Context
For Infor Global HR, specify this information: hcm/EmployeeSelfService/home?csk.showusingxi=true&specialmingleparam=.

For CloudSuite Financials & Supply Management, specify this information: fsm/web/home.

Note: For single tenant and on premises clients, specify this information: <Your CSF product line>/web/home.
    Default Tenant
    This field must be blank.
  3. For Infor Global HR, review your Custom Parameter if you require URL context session keys for HROrganization, JobBoard, or CHP. These can also be included in the Context value after csk.showusingxi=true.
  4. Click Save.

Enabling SoHo 4UX without an additional plugin-non-parallel or go-live option

The procedure to fully enable SoHo 4UX is the same for Cloud tenants and on- premises installations. When you are ready to use SoHo 4UX, add a new Configuration Parameter record.

  1. Sign in as Administrator and launch Infor Global HR or CloudSuite Financials & Supply Management. Open the Administration Console application.
  2. Open the Configuration Parameters list. Select Other > System Configuration Parameters > All.
  3. Select Actions > Create.
  4. Specify this information:
    Component
    Specify config.
    Key
    Specify uiharness.
    Type
    Select Alpha.
    Size
    Specify 10.
    Value
    Specify xifull.

Use the value xifull to enable the new application menu and all applications for SoHo 4UX. If you use xiharness as the value, then only the SoHo 4UX application menu is enabled. All applications use the current SoHo 3.x UX, unless webapps are configured to enable SoHo4 UX.

  5. Click Save.
