Purging Empty Synchronized Groups

After all members of a synchronized group have been processed, the synchronized group is still listed in the Synchronized Group Management tab of the Async page. To clean up this list, you can use the PurgeEmptyGroups action for the AsyncSynchronizedGroup class.

If a group is purged and new actions are created In the group, it will be recreated. Thus there is no problem purging a group that may be needed again.

Note: In addition to the procedure below, you can purge empty synchronized groups from the Synchronized Group Management tab by selecting Actions > Purge Empty Groups.
  1. Select Async Administrator > Async Overview > Maintenance Requests.
  2. If the maintenance request for purging empty synchronized groups is not enabled, enable it by selecting it and setting the Pending Scheduling value to Yes.
  3. Optionally, modify the settings for the scheduling of the purge and set up a filter in order to purge only a subset of the groups..
    1. Select the action whose scheduling you want to modify and click Update.
    2. To make changes to the frequency settings, modify values in the Scheduling section.
    3. To create a filter in order to purge only a subset of the groups, click Parameters and then specify a text string (case insensitive) to match against synchronized group names. An asterisk can be used as a wildcard at the beginning, middle, or end of the string. No value in the Group Name Match field means all empty synchronized groups will be purged.
