Importing configurations and personalizations

Use this procedure to import configurations and personalizations. Use this action if you have exported configurations and personalizations, made changes, and want to restore the previous set of configurations and personalizations.

  1. Select Administration Console > Configuration and Personalization > Import Configurations and Personalizations or Configuration Console > Utilities > Import Configurations and Personalizations.
  2. Specify this information:
    Subdirectory
To import the configurations and personalizations to a subdirectory of the FTP site directory, specify that directory.

Import User Defined Replication Set Data

Select this check box to import replication set data that is defined by the user. Specify a schema registration state option and a replication state option. You can also import a single user-defined replication set definition by specifying the replication set name in the Replication Set field.

    • Select Keep Source Value to keep the value from the cdimport file. It is rare to keep the source values if you are importing from a different environment unless perhaps you are discontinuing use of the source and continuing on with the target. You should not have two different environments replicating to the same target.
    • Select Keep Target Value to ignore the value in the cdimport file. Use this option if you are doing an update for the replication set and the replication set business class.
    • Select Clear to reset the status value. Use this option if you are creating a new data area and want to use the replication set definitions.
    Import Snapshot
Select the Import Snapshot check box and select a snapshot to import a snapshot of the configurations. If you select the Import Snapshot check box, you cannot select any other import types. Select the Keep Rollback Information check box to keep rollback information. If you do not select the Keep Rollback Information check box, rollback information is only kept when importing back into the source of the export.
    Overwrite Duplicate Records
Select this check box to update duplicate records with information from the imported file.
    Validate Only
Select this check box to validate and not perform any updates. A report is created in the FTP directory.

    Halt on DB Error

    Normalize Records
Select this check box to update imported records to comply with the format of the existing records.
    Provide Large Object Threshold
If you select this check box, provide a threshold in megabytes (MB). Objects that are larger than the threshold are not imported.
    Import All Status
If you are importing application data, select this check box to include all statuses in the import. You can clear this check box and then select the check boxes for the active, inactive, and invalid statuses to include. This field does not affect types of imports other than application data.

  3. Click Schedule to schedule the action for another time or click Submit to immediately import the configurations and personalizations.
An entry is created in the audit log to indicate that an import occurred. The import is displayed on the Configuration Console dashboard under configuration and personalization changes in the last 14 days.
