Password reset policy sends email with a temporary password by default for user password changes
When a security administrator creates a new password policy, the default behavior for resetting user passwords is to send a standard email to the user containing a temporary password which the user must reset. Previously, by default, a user was presented with a security question when a password change was required.
- Using a customized email template for users to change their passwords.
- Presenting users with a security question for changing their passwords. Additionally, you can use a security question in conjunction with a reset email message.
Security Administration for the Web supports directly editing Landmark Pattern Language (LPL) to create customized rules
Customer developers and security administrators who are knowledgeable about LPL can use Security Administration for the web to directly edit LPL for rules they have copied from those delivered by Infor.
- Copying and renaming an existing rule and directly editing the LPL to make changes for your site.
- Side-by-side comparison of versions with differences highlighted.
- Change management tools, including history of versions.
In some cases, the LPL editor does not expose all possible conditions for an existing rule. There are ways to expose this information. However, if you prefer to use the Security Administration menus, including the Condition Builder, to step through creating a rule and applying conditions, you can continue to do so. You must use Infor Rich Client for this.
IMPORTANT: Always copy an Infor-delivered rule and assign it a new name before attempting to edit it.
Information about creating customized security rules using Security Administration for the web or Infor Rich Client is in Infor Landmark Technology User Setup and Security.
