Locate the user who runs application pools

The SharePoint user who runs application pools needs additional access rights in Infor Lawson. Depending on how SharePoint is configured, this could be one of two default users (or it could be a unique user that you have created). Use these steps to identify the user. (Instructions for assigning Infor Lawson access rights follow.)

  1. Launch IIS and navigate to ApplicationPools.
  2. Locate the following entries:
    • SharePoint Central Administration

    • SecurityTokenService Application Pool

    Application pools
  3. View the Identity column. This is the user who needs additional Infor Lawson access rights.

If you have configured a SharePoint farm, it is likely that the user running application pools is "spfarm". If you do not have a SharePoint farm, it is likely that the user running application pools is "LocalSystem".

It is typical for both the SharePoint Central Administration and the SecurityToken Service application pools to be run by the same user. If they have different users on your system, you will need to assign the additional Infor Lawson access rights to both users.
