Verify that I/O boxes have been created

An I/O box is a type of connection point that defines the connection between ION and an application that can send and receive messages to/from ION.

An I/O box connection point must exist for each platform that participates in your system before you perform other ION and Infor OS Portal (or Infor Ming.le) configuration for user BODs. For example, if you are setting up user BODs for Landmark and LSF, you must have connection points for Infor OS Portal (or Infor Ming.le), Landmark and LSF.

Note: At the time this document was published, only connection points of type I/O box were supported by Infor Lawson.
  1. From ION Desk, verify that the I/O boxes needed for your installation have been set up.
  2. If they have not been, create them.
The basic steps to do this are:
    • Download scripts from ION Desk.
    • Copy them to your database server.
    • Manually create an I/O box database and user in the database.
    • Edit the 1.0 script to change the “alter” line to have the name of the database you created.
    • Run the 1.0 script that was downloaded. In addition, if you want multiple logical IDs to be allowed, run the 3.0 script.
Instructions are in Infor ION Desk User Guide, version 12.0.x which is available on Infor Xtreme. Within the document, search the chapter "Settings and Configuration" for information on downloading scripts which is performed on the Configuration Files tab.
